My name is Ankit Patel, and I am a dedicated solution architect based in Norwich, United Kingdom. Over the past 15 years, I have had the opportunity to work in multiple domains within the IT industry, progressing from Full-stack Developer to Managing Director and Solution Architect. Throughout my career, I have helped clients transform their complex requirements into reliable solutions that support business growth, improve efficiency, and deliver lasting value.
The Vision and Toolkit
Over the last 15 years, I have gained experience with various architectural patterns, such as Monolithic, Client-Server, Event-Driven, Plugin-based/Modular, and Microservices. I learn technical ecosystems to bridge the space between complicated business logic and fluid user experiences. On the backend, I’ve mastered PHP, Node.js, Laravel, and Express.js while dealing with the complexities of demanding e-commerce with Magento, Shopify, and WordPress. When a project requires modern agility and real-time performance, I prefer ReactJS, VueJS, and other JavaScript-based frameworks for building intuitive, powerful frontends. To make sure every deployment is as stable as the architecture itself, I favour CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Git, Terraform, and Docker to maintain environment parity and scalability. These are the precision tools I use to turn structural blueprints into high-performing digital reality.
Philosophy
In my experience, most challenges in software engineering are structural rather than visual. A project with a weak foundation cannot be sustained by superficial enhancements. I believe most projects are dynamic systems that require architectural integrity to maintain sustainability and scalability. Well-architected solutions underpin key business objectives, like promoting growth, assuring reliability, and cutting long-term costs.
While the user interface gets the glory, I believe the real value lies within the underlying architecture.
Problem-Solving
When addressing problems, I apply rational and fundamental thinking. Regarding software and digital challenges, I commit fully to the software lifecycle and the logic of script execution. I utilise foundational programming principles to create reproducible scenarios, assuring that implemented solutions are based on established best standards rather than short-term fixes.
Leadership and Mentorship
Technical expertise is only part of proficient leadership. As a Tech Lead and Managing Director, I have emphasised strengthening teams through mentorship and leading by example, helping them manage challenges by themselves. I value constructive communication and working with teams, working closely with stakeholders to shape project goals and promote clear decision-making. My approach is to build partnerships built on trust, where suggestions are welcomed, and project objectives are aligned from start to finish.
The AI Era and Continuous Growth
The technology sector evolves swiftly, and I stay devoted to constant learning. I am currently exploring how artificial intelligence can increase productivity. While I utilise AI tools to optimise my workflow, I adhere to a strict human-in-the-loop policy. AI provides a valuable assistant, but quality assurance and final architectural decisions remain the responsibility of humans.
Life Outside the Screen
I believe that the way you do anything reflects how you do everything. My interests outside work help me stay balanced and focused:
- The Gym: I regularly do weight training. Lifting gives me insight and discipline, helps me build strength, and boosts my mood.
- The Indoor Jungle: I love taking care of my indoor plants. They make me realise that growth needs patience, the right setting, and steady care.
- The Great Outdoors: * When I feel stuck, I go outside. Nature walks are my boardroom; it’s where my best ideas and inspirations usually strike.
- The Home Team: My wife and our two kids are my greatest joys. We love exploring new places or just spending weekends together at home.
